What Are Exploration Services?
Exploration is the fieldwork side of geotechnical and environmental engineering. It’s how we physically access the subsurface to collect the soil samples, rock cores, and site data that drive every recommendation we make. Without reliable exploration, engineering analysis is based on assumptions instead of evidence.
Why It Matters
The quality of a geotechnical report or environmental assessment is only as good as the data behind it. Accurate drilling, sampling, and field testing give engineers the information they need to design foundations, evaluate site conditions, and identify potential problems before construction begins. Having exploration capabilities in-house means LOI controls the quality and timing of that data from start to finish.
What We Do
LOI operates its own drilling equipment and field crews, giving clients a single source for exploration and engineering. Our services include:
- CME-75 and CME-55 drilling operations
- Standard penetration tests (SPT)
